As frequently is the case dealing with the Palestinians, every time there is talk of peace they themselves sabotage all hopes.
The UK Telepraph reports that the military wing of Hamas has claimed responsibility for the killing of four Jewish settlers who were shot dead in their car on the eve of direct peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians.
The shooting was the deadliest attack by militants in the West Bank for more than a year and was seen as an attempt to derail negotiations in Washington, where President Barack Obama was preparing to host a dinner for Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, and Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, before the two leaders meet face-to-face on Wednesday.
Ehud Barak, Israels' defence minister, promised that Israel would "exact a price" from those who had carried out the shootings. "This is an apparent attempt by lowly terrorists to sabotage the attempt to achieve a diplomatic process."
A spokesman for Mr Netanyahu said the attack proved there must be “no compromise” on Israeli security demands, a spokesman said.
“This criminal murder proves again the need to stand firmly on Israel’s stringent security demands, and there will be no compromise on them,” he said, adding that Mr Netanyahu “ordered security forces to act without political limits to catch the murderers and react aggressively.” The White House also condemned the killing “in the strongest possible terms”. That would have been more exciting than the snooze-fest he delivered announcing the end of the combat mission in Iraq. If you were looking to hear Obama talk about victory, you have better chance Joe Biden not ever putting his foot in his mouth.

These results are based on aggregated data from registered voters surveyed Aug. 23-29 as part of Gallup Daily tracking. This marks the fifth week in a row in which Republicans have held an advantage over Democrats -- one that has ranged between 3 and 10 points.
The Republican leads of 6, 7, and 10 points this month are all higher than any previous midterm Republican advantage in Gallup's history of tracking the generic ballot, which dates to 1942.
Prior to this year, the highest such gap was five points, measured in June 2002 and July 1994. Elections in both of these years resulted in significant Republican gains in House seats. Large leads on the generic ballot are not unprecedented for Democrats. The widest generic ballot lead in Gallup's history was 32 points in the Democrats' favor, measured in July 1974, just prior to Republican President Richard Nixon's resignation over the Watergate scandal.
This large margin illustrates Democrats' historic dominance over Republicans in registered voters' party identification in the decades since World War II. Democrats controlled the House of Representatives continually between 1955 and 1995, and routinely held generic ballot leads in the double digits during that period. The UK Telegraph reports that the sun is setting over South Africa's oldest vineyard and the last of the wine-tasting tourists are climbing onto their buses.
But one large family group has no intention of leaving – and there is little the management can do about it.
Groot Constantia, in the heart of Cape Town's wine country, can deal with inebriated holidaymakers – but it is invading baboons which have developed a taste for its grapes that the wine makers are struggling with. Each day, dozens of Cape Baboons gather to strip the ancient vines – the sauvignon blanc grapes are a particular favourite – before heading into the mountains to sleep. A few, who sample fallen fruit that has fermented in the sun, pass out and don't make it home.
"They are not just eating our grapes, they are raiding our kitchens and ripping the thatch off the roofs. They are becoming increasingly bold and destructive," said Jean Naude, general manager at the vineyard, which is celebrating its 325th birthday this year. Guards banging sticks and waving plastic snakes have been deployed with only limited success, and not even a blast of a vuvuzela, the plastic horn made famous at the World Cup, seems to frighten them.
It is not just the vineyards in South Africa which are under siege, however, but also the exclusive neighbouring suburb of Constantia, home to famous residents including Earl Spencer, Wilbur Smith and Nelson Mandela.
Crisis meetings between animal welfare groups and traumatised locals are struggling to find a workable solution.
"Where there's a mountain, there's a baboon," said Justin O'Riain of the Baboon Research Unit at the University of Cape Town. "As we take up more and more of their land, the conflict increases."
The baboons lived in the mountains of Cape Town long before humans took up residence, but development has forced the unlikely neighbours into increasingly closer contact.
Before laws afforded baboons a protected status a decade ago, troublesome animals were regularly killed or maimed by home owners and farmers. Now around 20 full-time "baboon monitors" are employed to protect them and guide them away from residential areas. It has proved mission impossible. Last week, a 12 year old boy was left traumatised after confronting a troop who had broken into his family home.
Hearing noises from the kitchen, he went to investigate and found the beasts ransacking cupboards.
When the child fled upstairs to find his babysitter, three males gave chase and surrounded him as he made a tearful phone call to his mother, while the animals pelted him with fruit.
"When he called me he was terrified. They had him surrounded," said the Constantia housewife, who did not wish to be identified. Full story

Besides being grossly scornful of an event that featured Americans turning back to God, praying, and encouraging other Americans to do good, Mr. Neiwert is engaging in Liberal de-construction to marginalize Glenn Beck.
According to the 2008 Census of the United States with a population of 310 million, the country is 79.8% White, 15.4% Hispanic, 12.8% African American, 4.5% Asian American, 1.7% Multi cultural, 1% Native American and Alaskan, and 0.2% Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander.
So, if 8 out of 10 people in the United States is White to begin with, then its very understandable, except for Mr. Neiwert apparently, that you’ll see more White people at any large gathering like a NFL game, or the Oscars, or a Yankees game and at 8 28 Restoring Honor Rally.
Mr. Neiwart’s observation is as insightful as saying water is wet.
But, it works for his crowd that is made up guilt-ridden White people who hate America, mindless no-nothings who are easily manipulated by the David Neiwert’s, and Chris Matthews’s, Ed Schultz’s and the Keith Olberman’s of the country. We need people like these for a good laugh once in a while.
The truth is Liberals are scared too death and desperate because they know they’re going to loose huge in the upcoming mid-term elections. So you will see the race card pulled in the coming weeks like you’ve never seen it before.
That’s why they’re demonizing Fox and Glenn Beck who only points out how their policies are failing.
Liberal de-construction is not working because more and more African Americans are watching Fox and their eyes are being opened, not with lies and manipulation like they do on MSNBC, but with facts, cold hard statistics and honest exmination of the Liberal agenda and how its failed in Europe, in Greece, and everywhere its tried.

There are several things going on here beyond the typical Liberal knee-jerk reaction by the Left to attack and misrepresent Glenn Beck.
The first thing you have to understand about Bob Herbert is that he’s fulfilling his role as a house Negro for the Left and the Democrat Party.
What he writes is always meant to deceive Black people and keep them in the dark by not only denouncing Glenn Beck, but anybody or anything that appears on the Fox Channel.
The standing unwritten, unsaid, but very much understood order given by the Democrat Party to their 21st century “overseers” which include not only Bob Herbert at the NY Times, but also Eugene Robinson at the Washington Post, Cynthia Tucker at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and syndicated radio personality Michael Baisden and others is to vilify anything that appears on Fox.
If you’re really “Black” in America you’re not suppose to watch Fox and if you do you’re not suppose to believe anything that appears on it because they’re a bunch of nasty-ass racists that want President Barack Obama to fail.
However, for Blacks that fail to get the message and do watch Fox are immediately attacked by fellow African Americans and thusly called Uncle Tom, Aunt Thomasina, and other vile epithets meant to bring those people back on the mental plantation.

There have been plenty of times over the years I relied on Herbert to find out what’s the wrong side of an issue.
Let me tell you, the brother did not disappointment.
So, what was this so-called mean message Herbert warned his Times readers about before the event actually took place?
According to Herbert it’s a mean message when Glenn Beck said America needs to turn back to God.
It’s a mean message when Glenn Beck suggested that Americans should tithe (for the biblically illiterate like Herbert: that means giving 10% of your salary) to their churches, synagogues or mosques.
It’s real mean message, again according to Herbert for Glenn to ask Americans to go down on their knees to pray.
I watched the entire event for myself on CSPAN.
Not that I needed Bob Herbert’s advice because I learned over 20 years ago that the brother brings very very little to the table.
Watch for yourself and don’t even take my word for it.
But, if you think it’s a mean message to hear references to “Jesus”, “The Lord” , “God” or references to the book of Ezra, you might think you’re watching a religious event.
In fact, it wasn’t a rally at all but a revival for America to get back to her faith roots and not be ashamed to do so if she wants God to continue to bless her!

The online campaign by Flime in Berlin has called for diners to "donate any part of their body" as well as looking for an "open-minded surgeon". However, politicians have condemned the restaurant for being a tasteless PR stunt according to Der Spiegel.
So far the location of the restaurant, if there is one, has not been disclosed.
"Members" willing to participate in the cannibal "Wari-culture" of the restaurant are asked to fill out a form.
It includes questions about medical fitness, Body Mass Index, how often one exercises and even if the donor is pregnant.
The restaurant claims to be inspired by the "compassionate cannibalism" of the Brazilian Waricaca tribe.
The website explains: "We see feasting as a spiritual act, in which the spirit and strength of the consumed creature is given to the guests."
Michael Braun, vice chairman of Berlin's Christian Democrats told Bild newspaper that he had received emails complaining about the restaurant.
He said: "I am assuming it is a misguided joke. But it is disgusting. "In particular because a resident of Berlin was murdered by a cannibal not too long ago."
It is thought that he was referring to self-styled cannibal Armin Meiwes who was sentenced to life in 2006 after killing and eating a fellow Berliner who volunteered for the task.
Bernd Jurgen Brandes, a computer technician, volunteered to be eaten by Meiwes in 2001.

Mary Bale, 45, was caught on CCTV petting four-year-old tabby cat Lola before picking her up, tossing her into a trash can and closing the lid.

Since the time of George Washington our presidents have placed their left hands on the Bible as they raise their right hands and swear to defend our Constitution.
The Census Bureau’s official Statistical Abstract of the United States says a miniscule 0.7 percent of American adults—or 1,621,000 out of 228,182,000--are atheists. If you accept the Pew Hispanic Center’s March 2005 estimate that there were 11 million illegal aliens in the United States back then—and assume for the sake of argument there are still roughly that many today after another half decade of unsecured borders—then a person randomly passing you on an American street is about seven times more likely to be a foreign national illegally residing here than an atheist.
If representation in the resident population is the measure, then it is more plausible to say America is a nation of foreigners than to say America is a nation of non-believers. Yet President Obama has virtually made a mantra of saying that Americans are, among other things, “non-believers.”
In his inaugural address, Obama said, “We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus and non-believers.” A week after his inauguration, in an interview with Al Arabiya, an Arabic-language television network based in the United Arab Emirates, Obama said:
“So what I want to communicate is the fact that in all my travels throughout the Muslim world, what I have come to understand is that regardless of your faith—and America is a country of Muslims, Jews, Christians and non-believers—regardless of your faith, people have certain common hopes and common dreams.”
On Nov. 7, 2009, four days before Veterans Day and two days after U.S. Army psychiatrist and radical Muslim terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan murdered 12 U.S. troops and one civilian and wounded 29 others at Fort Hood, Obama took pains to publicly state his belief that the American veterans who fought in Muslim territory at Ramadi, Iraq, and Kandahar, Afghanistan, included “non-believers.”
“In tribute to those who fell at Ft. Hood, I’ve ordered flags flying over the White House and other federal buildings to be lowered to half-staff from now until Veterans Day next Wednesday,” Obama said in his weekly address. “Veterans Day is our chance to honor those Americans who’ve served on battlefields from Lexington to Antietam, Normandy to Manila, Inchon to Khe Sanh, Ramadi to Kandahar.
They are Americans of every race, faith and station. They are Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus and nonbelievers.” On Aug. 13, hosting an Iftar dinner for Muslim guests at the White House, Obama not only suggested that he approved the building of a mosque next door to Ground Zero in New York, but he also said this: “We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus—and non-believers.
“ Is Obama’s repeated declaration—including to Muslim audiences—that America is, among other things, a nation of “non-believers” truly accurate? Does it comport with Obama’s professed strategy of reaching out to the Islamic world and improving America’s standing there by increasing understanding of our true nature as a nation?
The answers are: No and no. In America, we have no established religion, and the First Amendment guarantees its free exercise, but we are and always have been an expressly God-fearing nation.
Thomas Jefferson, who wrote of our God-given rights in the Declaration, later said in his “Notes on the State of Virginia”: “And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?”
The Census Bureau does not ask Americans their denomination, but relies on the American Religious Identification Survey, which interviewed 54,461 American adults in 2008, to estimate the nation’s religious demographics. ARIS discovered that 76 percent of Americans said they were Christians, 1.2 percent said they were Jewish and 0.6 percent said they were Muslims.
Fifteen percent said they did not affiliate with a religion—which is not an indicator of disbelief in God. Only 0.9 percent said they were agnostic and only 0.7 percent said they were atheists. Obama’s insistence on giving the 0.7 percent atheist population equivalent status in his public declarations to America’s Christians and Jews, whose religious tradition is central to our nation’s worldview and heritage, may help promote non-belief in the United States, but it surely does not promote the American cause in the Islamic world—where our radical Muslim enemies, starting with al-Qaida, falsely claim Americans are infidels.
Certainly, Obama is not purposefully seeking to diminish America’s standing in the Muslim world. But his words—on their face—seek to diminish God’s standing in America.

Liberals are upset that they can’t find anymore oil in the Gulf. But, contrary to what they may believe, God has a knack of fixing the planet in ways we humans cannot comprehend.
The new microbe was found to be breaking down oil about twice as fast as expected.
Researchers discovered the new oil-eating microbe while studying the underwater dispersion of millions of gallons which escaped after the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig in April.
It thrives in cold water in the deep sea where temperatures are around 5C (41F) and scientists said it may have adapted over time, through a process of natural selection, due to periodic leaks and natural seeps of oil in the Gulf.
When the bacteria were found to have acted on oil they consumed half of it in 1.2 to 6.1 days, giving an average of about three days. By comparison at the site of the Exxon Valdez spill in Alaska in 1989 the average "half life" was seven days.
Around 95 per cent of the bacteria in the oil plume were the new type, while outside only five per cent were.
The microbe was discovered by a team led by Terry Hazen, of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California. The study was reported in the journal Science.
Hazen said:"What we know about the degradation rates fits with what we are seeing in the last three weeks. We've gone out to the sites, and we don't find any oil, but we do find the bacteria."
The researchers said it provided the first ever data on microbial activity from a deep water oil plume. It suggested "a great potential" for bacteria to help dispose of oil in the deep sea.
Environmentalists have raised fears about the giant oil spill and the effects of underwater oil on sea life. Last week a mist of tiny oil droplets 22 miles (35km) long was reported.
But the researchers said the influx of oil had profoundly altered the "microbial community." They collected more than 200 samples from 17 deep water sites between May 25 and June 2. The new microbe was found to be the dominant one and, although closely related to existing petroleum degrading ones, was a new species.
The team also found that the new microbe acts without significantly depleting oxygen in the water.
There have been concerns that oil-eating activity by microbes would consume large amounts of oxygen in the water and create "dead zones" which would destroy ecosystems and fisheries.
But the study found that, while oxygen saturation outside the oil plume was 67 per cent, within the plume it was still 59 per cent. A previous study published last week suggested no decrease in oxygen. Hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil a year seep into the Gulf every year through the sea floor.
It was suggested that oil was dispersing quickly because Gulf light crude is more biodegradable than other oil types and dispersant may have spaded up the process.
There has been much debate about what has happened to the cloud of oil, a mile wide and 650ft high, that was drifting at 4,000ft under water.
Or lets just say it’s a miracle from God and give thanks for the wonders he performs. And he might also protect us from that pesky carbon thing Liberals are so worried about.
