Bahtendah Wisdom - It's A Great Day In The History Of American Television

Keith Olbermann And MSNBC Part Ways

First of all, let me say that the following commentary has absolutely nothing to do with Olbermann's political views.  Nothing.  I remember this dude since his days as a sports anchor in Boston.  He was AWFUL.  From the jump, he has been the most pompous, self-righteous, smarter-than-thou TV personality that I have ever seen.  I don't care if this cat is liberal, conservative or middle of the road.  His whole schtick has always been "I'm smarter than you, so you better pay attention to what I'm saying because you're in the company of genius."  It seems to me that he's built a career on intimidation through "bully intellectualism." (That's right - I just created a new term - pay attention!)  His IQ might be high, but he's dumb as a bag of hammers.

Here's the unvarnished truth:  He sucked as a sports anchor, he sucked as Dan Patrick's sidekick on ESPN radio, he sucked on NBC's "Football Night In America" and he sucked on MSNBC.  Total blowhard, total intellectual Nazi.  Good riddance, you pompous fuck.  Stay off my TV!

P.S.  There are already rumors that this douche could end up on CNN.  No, no, no!  Keep this dickwad off the air!  Again, for me it's not about politics, it's about being an enormously insufferable waste of time and space.  Bang.  Pay attention!

MSNBC‘s Lawrence O’Donnell Admits On-Air: ‘I Am a Socialist’. Ya’ think? (Video)

So tell me what’s new here?

Most of the people who work for MSNBC are Socialists. That’s like saying water is wet.

The Blaze reports that on Friday’s “Morning Joe” MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell made a startling admission: “I am a socialist.”

The statement from the regular host of “The Last Word” came as he was chiding contributor Glenn Greenwald from Salon.com for apparently being a liberal hiding behind the word “progressive.”

“I am a socialist. I live to the extreme left, the extreme left of you mere liberals,” he said:

Keith Olbermann Suspended “Indefinitely” from PMSNBC (MSNBC) for Donating to Democrats

From the red colored walls at MSNBC, where pictures of Che Guevara adorn every desk, comes the news that mentally deranged Leftist, Keith Olbermann is out on his ass.

Boy, Republicans take over the House and Keith Olbermann is given the heave-ho too? Talk about poetic justice.

The Politico reports that MSNBC host Keith Olbermann has been suspended indefinitely without pay after POLITICO reported that he made three campaign contributions to Democratic candidates.

MSNBC President Phil Griffin said in a statement Friday: “I became aware of Keith's political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay."

Olbermann made campaign contributions to two Arizona members of Congress and failed Kentucky Senate candidate
Jack Conway ahead of Tuesday’s election.

Olbermann, who acknowledged the contributions in a statement to POLITICO, made the maximum legal donations of $2,400 apiece to Conway and to Arizona Reps. Raul Grijalva and
Gabrielle Giffords. He donated to the Arizona pair on Oct. 28 — the same day that Grijalva appeared as a guest on Olbermann’s “Countdown” show.

NBC has a rule against employees contributing to political campaigns, and a wide range of news organizations prohibit political contributions — considering it a breach of journalistic independence to contribute to the candidates they cover.

The network originally announced that Chris Hayes, the Washington editor for The Nation, was going to fill in for Olbermann. But the network announced late Friday that Hayes would not be the substitute host, after Hayes’ previous donations to two Democratic candidates in 2008 and 2009 came to light.

Hayes said on Twitter that his decision not to fill in for Olbermann tonight had nothing to do with his donations – which he notes were made before he became and MSNBC contributor, but because he “did feel comfortable doing it given the circumstances.”

MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts is filling in tonight.

More details here

NBC may not have any staff left if they really looked into it. Do you really think Olbermann was the only one who donated money to Democrats?

Poll: Bill O'Reilly is popular, but Rachel Maddow is unknown to likely voters

Gee, somebody really wasted a lot of time an effort to what most people already knew about the legacy networks.

Doesn’t Rachel Maddow look like the origial Karate Kid?

The Politico reports that more people are getting their news about the upcoming election from cable television than any other source, and from Fox News more than any other cable channel, according to a POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll released Monday.

The poll found that 81 percent of those polled get their news about the midterm elections from cable channels, like Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, or their websites, compared with 71 percent from national network news channels, such as ABC, NBC or CBS, and their websites. Among cable news channels, Fox was the clear winner, with 42 percent of respondents saying it is their main source, compared with 30 percent who cited CNN and 12 percent who rely on MSNBC.

Get full poll results.

The results show the growing influence that 24-hour cable news has on shaping the political consciousness, despite the fact that network newscasts still draw many multiples of the number of viewers of even the highest-rated cable news shows.

“Because people can tune into cable at any time of day, I think the cumulative audience is probably larger than the cumulative audience for the three network news shows,” said Chris Arterton, dean of the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.

Cliff over at Another Black Conservative has a funny ttile for this topic;

MSNBC? What’s that? Poll: Only 12% rely on MSNBC for their news

[Snicker] Sorry, but I have to laugh over that one. Didn’t Ed Schultz just say the other day that he too could draw crowds like Glenn Beck? Poor Ed, he may want to start with something less prodigious, like getting someone to watch his nightly ranting. Otherwise, he could end up all by himself shouting on the Mall and everyone wonder who is that fat slob?

Why is MSNBC Losing Viewers in Droves?

One of the reasons is Ed Schultz.

It’s an open secret within the cable industry that Schultz has a bigger man crush on Barack Obama than even Chris Matthews. However he isn’t as articulate as Matthews or even Keith Olberman which why whenever Schultz is outmaneuvered on a debate, and that pretty much happens on a daily basis, he screams and insults people.

Although that may impress some hardcore Liberals who are some of the most ill-informed people in the country, for other people with a modicum of common sense, they recognize Schultz for what he is.

That’s why Fox ratings beats MSNBC and CNN combined day in and day out in every time slot.

People want honest reporting, not cheerleaders for the president and the people of this country are voting with their TV remotes.

I think I have more readers of my blog than Ed Schultz has viewers.

Some of Ed Schultz greatest hits.

He’s pretty good for a laugh, but otherwise there’s not much to the man
