Must Watch: Billy Crystal Returns For ‘When Harry Met Sally 2′ With Helen Mirren

Posted: 07 Apr 2011 02:31 PM PDT

We haven't seen a whole lot of Billy Crystal lately, and this is a very depressing thing for anyone who's known and loved his movies over the years.

The legendary entertainer and best Academy Awards host of all-time has been staying under the radar for the most part and has only done a few things since 2002, but recently he came out of hiding to re-team with director Rob Reiner and pitch their case for a sequel to his much-loved romantic comedy, When Harry Met Sally.

As Hollywood tends to work these days, however, the executives who hear the pitch decide they want to make just a tiny little change to their pitch. The resulting movie is too good to spoil, so you must click on over to the other side to check it out. The hilarious parody of Hollywood's lack of originality is littered with great cameos and you shan't regret watching it, this I promise you. [...]

Hobo With a Shotgun

Hobo With A Shotgun
Directed By: Jason Eisener
Written By: John Davies
Starring: Rutger Hauer, Gregory Smith, Molly Dunsworth, Brian Downey, Rob Wells
Release date: March 25, 2011 (Canada)

Once in a lifetime, you come across a movie that rips the scales from your eyes and forces you to see the world as it really is. A movie that reaches into your very soul; tapping into the existential yearning that is the yolk which connects us all to our basic humanity. It's a movie that one single viewing of can change your life forever.

For me, that movie is Hobo With A Shotgun.

For those of you who don't already know the story, Hobo With A Shotgun was the brainchild of Canadian filmmaker Jason Eisener. Winner of the SXSW Grindhouse Trailer contest, Jason Eisener's fake trailer for Hobo With A Shotgun was attached to the blockbuster Tarantino/Rodriguez Grindhouse double-bill of Planet Terror and Death Proof for its Canadian run. The trailer became such a hit that soon shooting of a feature-length film began in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia [...]

Dark Prince

Dark Prince
Author's Cut Special Edition
By Christine Feehan
Hardcover | Kindle
HarperCollins
Release date: March 8, 2011

Dark Prince is the first book in Christine Feehan's 21-book Dark Series. Originally published in 1999, this new edition, released last month, is a Special Edition Author's Cut containing 100 more pages than the original version.

In it, we meet Raven Whitney, an especially gifted human psychic who telepathically hunts down serial killers and helps bring them to justice. Because her gifts make her extremely sensitive to the most private and sometimes downright disturbing thoughts of everyone around her, Raven lives a solitary existence. Each time she helps nab a serial killer it leaves her sick and exhausted provoking her to seek solitude in the mountains. One night she psychically picks up the low, mournful cry of a painfully lonely man. Intrigued and concerned that he might be contemplating suicide, Raven telepathically tries to soothe the man, who shows up on her hotel balcony in the form of a bird soon after their mental conversation. So begins the all-consuming, undeniably frightening, exhilarating, and supremely important love affair between American-born Raven and ancient, powerful Carpathian prince Mikhail Dubrinsky, the success of which may mean the difference between extinction and salvation for the Carpathian race [...]

Hulk vs Dracula

Hulk vs. Dracula announced this weekend at WonderCon 2011 features Dracula and his vampire army facing off against the big green guy.

This one sounds amusing at the very least. The story is supposed be an action-packed tie-in to the big Marvel event Fear Itself. This 3-issue miniseries brings the vampire story from the X-Men, the Death of Dracula story, and the upcoming Tomb of Dracula Presents: Throne of Blood together in one epic conclusion. The miniseries is written by Victor Gischler and illustrated by Ryan Stegman. Look for the first issue in comic book shops this September.

Gischler has previously worked on comics such as Punisher Max, Deadpool, X-Men, and Death of Dracula. He's also written an eclectic mix of novels including Go-Go-Girls of the Apocalypse, and a crime novel called Pistol Monkeys among others. Ryan Stegman's previous work can be seen in X-23, She-Hulks, and the Incredible Hercules [...]

Blu-ray Review: Tron: Legacy

Tron Legacy blu-ray

Tron: Legacy/Tron: The Original Classic
5-Disc Blu-ray | 4-Disc Blu-ray | 2-Disc Blu-ray | DVD
Directed by Joseph Kosinshi/Steven Lisberger
Starring Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde, Garrett Hedlund, Bruce Boxleitner
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment
Released date: April 5, 2011

If you want to see my opinion of Tron: Legacy, go ahead and check out my original review of the film's theatrical release. My opinion of the movie hasn't really changed since I originally wrote the review. To sum up, it is a fun and visually amazing movie, but it is not as good as it could have been. However, now I'm here to talk about the Blu-ray version of Tron: Legacy, in all its five discs of glory, and I can't recommend it enough because it looks great at home, and because it includes the Blu-ray version of Tron: The Original Classic. The transfer on both of the Blu-rays look amazing, and if you've got a high end system, this is going to be a disc that will show it off. The movie is shown in its IMAX aspect ratio, so it doesn't quite fill a standard screen, but that doesn't take anything away. I was blown away by how great Tron: Legacy looked at home. Unfortunately, I am not set up for home 3D yet, so I can't speak to what that looks like, but I have to assume that this is going to be a film that takes full advantage of that technology [...]
