Posted: 25 Mar 2011 09:27 PM PDT The $10 t-shirt deal of the day over at Teefury today is a mash-up of Doctor Who and The Beatles called "The Gallifrey Road," by artist Jacen. The sale at Teefury began at midnight EST (Saturday, March 26, 2011) and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it's over, it's gone from the site for good. The design takes popular Doctor Who imagery, like some of the previous Doctors as well as the TARDIS, and puts them in the famous Beatles Abbey Road crosswalk [...] |

DVD Review: The Venture Brothers: Season 4 Vol 2 Posted: 25 Mar 2011 04:38 PM PDT The Venture Brothers Blu-ray | DVD Created by Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer Starring James Urbaniak, Patrick Warburton Warner Bros Home Video Release date: March 22, 2011 It's time once again for another review of a Venture Brothers DVD set, this time with Season 4, Volume 2. I've gone on before about my love for this show, but I think this time I'm going to say exactly why I love this show so much. If you're looking to see whether you should buy this DVD or not, yes, you should buy it. There are 8 great episodes on here that are well worth the money. If you've got a Blu-ray player, then definitely pick up the complete Season 4 Blu-ray, also on sale March 22, 2011. It's very easy for me to recommend this show to anyone who likes comic books, action, old cartoons, new cartoons, and anything that makes you laugh. I grew up watching Johnny Quest, and the whole show started as a parody of that show. The premise for Venture Bros. is essentially "What if Johnny Quest really existed, grew up, and turned out to be a failure in life." It's this central premise that drew me in at first, but it is the expansion of that premise that has kept me watching [...] |

Syfy Channel & ‘Rift’ Creator Trion Team Up To Create TV Series/MMO Video Game Fusion Posted: 25 Mar 2011 09:44 AM PDT Every once in a while a project so dauntless and ambitious that you almost have to cringe at what might happen if it all falls apart comes along, but with these projects also comes a pure excitement at the thought of them working. NBC Universal's Syfy Channel and Trion Worlds have just such a project in the making, and if it works like they want it to work, it could quite literally change the world of entertainment forever and ever. Here's the basic idea: Trion, who's latest title, Rift, has many saying that MMORPGs that aren't World of Warcraft can be made and enjoyed, have entered into a partnership to create a brand new currently untitled TV series AND online video game -- currently being called a Syfy Action MMO -- that live and breathe as one entity. Confusing, right? Be sure to continue on below to read much more and see a video about the tricky concept behind this. [...] |
Video: Sammy Hagar Talks About His ‘Red’ Autobiography Posted: 25 Mar 2011 07:51 AM PDT Rock legend Sammy Hagar just released his autobiography, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock, and trust me, it's seriously uncensored. Hagar is best known for his role as frontman of Van Halen (replacing David Lee Roth in the mid-1980s) and as you can imagine, he's got some great stories to tell. Check out the video here below of Hagar talking a bit about his new book, along with his co-author Joel Selvin. You may have seen the buzz on Hagar's comments to MTV about being abducted by aliens. I have to say, that's brilliant marketing right there, because all of a sudden the name "Sammy Hagar" is all over the net. Personally, I'd rather read about his musical endeavors and what it was like to be part of one of the biggest bands in the world [...] |
