Showtime Gets Hungry For Adaptation Of Comic Book ‘Chew’ Posted: 28 Mar 2011 04:40 PM PDT Showtime has picked up a script for a half-hour cop show based on a comic book series titled Chew. The comic book series follows a Federal agent named Tony Chu that can get psychic images from the things that he eats. He gets assigned to the most bizarre crimes and he has to eat his way through the investigation. The comic, created by John Layman and Rob Guillory and published by Image Comics, is darkly funny and completely unique compared to the horde of tights and fights books on store shelves. Terri Hughes Burton and Ron Milbauer (Eureka) wrote the Chew script that will now be further revised by Showtime for their network. A story like Chew is perfect for a cable network, at a minimum AMC, and at best HBO or Showtime, so it's exciting that the network that gave us Dexter will develop the project [...] |

And with a little help from TV Guide, we get to see exactly what they are going to look like. Check out the image above of the two superheroes [...] |

Get An Early Look At ‘Tomb of Dracula Presents: Throne of Blood #1′ Posted: 28 Mar 2011 09:05 AM PDT Writer Victor Gischler (X-Men, Death Of Dracula) and artist Goran Parlov (Marvel Universe Vs. The Punisher) bring us this tale of the rise of one special vampire above the rest of his kind from the ashes of a feud that tore his kind apart. This mysterious new leader of the vampires is a character from Marvel's past that will also be central to the epic Fear Itself story that will be kicking off in April. Tomb of Dracula Presents: Throne of Blood #1 hits the shelves at your favorite comic book shop April 27th. So we have an early look at what promises to be something different for Marvel heads to dig into. The cover art is modern and pretty great, but the interior pages feel very old school comic book. Backgrounds are a little bland overall. This style could very well be appropriate to the story the creators are trying to tell. These are great images because they not only show the art but they also offer up a little sample of the writing. Check them out and let us know what you think! [...] |
