The New York Post reports that the father of country music princess Taylor Swift reportedly conspired to cheat her ex-manager out of millions of dollars earned by launching the Grammy-winning country star, according to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan.
The lawsuit was filed by Dan Dymtrow, a music manager who claims he’s owed millions in commissions because he discovered Swift, signed her in 2004 when she was just 14 and then a key role in helping her become a star. The Hollywood Reporter reported today on its website.
Dymtrow claims he was fired in July 2005, just before Swift signed with Big Machine Records. He also said that he introduced Swift to industry honchos like Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta before being canned.

“They delayed and delayed ... and subsequently signed the deal and kept his commissions for themselves,” Dymtrow lawyer Fernando Pinguelo told The Hollywood Reporter.
But the Swift family claims Dymtrow failed to obtain the required court approval of his management contract with Taylor, who was then a minor and represented by her father.
“For (Dymtrow) to claim that her success and her major contracts were procured by him is ludicrous,” said Swift’s lawyer Paul LiCalsi. "And even if there were some merit to his claims, paying him on the contract would defeat the whole purpose of the law in New York, which is to protect minors who sign contracts."
